چکیده
The concept of representative crack elements has been successfully introduced to phase-field fracture in previous publications, where anisotropic elasticity [1], visco-elasticity [2], elasto-plasticity and surface friction [3] are considered at small deformations. This framework allows overcome unrealistic predictions for the kinematics, reported e.g. Strobl Seelig [4], Steinke Kaliske [5], known from models with approximations closure behaviour based on volumetric-deviatoric, spectral or similar splits stress strain tensors. In current contribution method fracture, is shown finite deformations fully coupled thermo-mechanics. iterative solution scheme element variational homogenisation sketched. Applications elasto-plasticity, friction, thermo-mechanics heat radiation through demonstrate flexibility framework.

[Proceeding] Crack deflection in brittle materials by Finite Fracture Mechanics
During their operation, modern aircraft engine components are subjected to increasingly demanding operating conditions, especially the high pressure turbine (HPT) blades. Such conditions cause these parts to undergo different types of time-dependent degradation, one of which is creep. A model using the finite element method (FEM) was developed, in order to be able to predict the creep behaviour...
متن کاملFinite Element-Based Model for Crack Propagation in Polycrystalline Materials∗
In this paper, we use an extended form of the finite element method to study failure in polycrystalline microstructures. Quasi-static crack propagation is conducted using the extended finite element method (X-FEM) and microstructures are simulated using a kinetic Monte Carlo Potts algorithm. In the X-FEM, the framework of partition of unity is used to enrich the classical finite element approxi...
متن کاملPlane Strain Deformations of Locking Materials near a Crack Tip
Plane-strain deformations of an isotropic and homogeneous Hookean body containing a crack are studied and it is required that the dilatation everywhere in the body be. greater than or equal to a constant. Following Prager, the region where the dilatation always equals the constant is identified as the locking region. For the case when the deformations of the body are symmetrical about the plane...
متن کاملFinite Plane Strain Deformations of Rubberlike Materials
A finite element program capable of analysing finite plane strain deformations of incompressible rubberlike (Mooney-Rivlin) materials has been develop~d. Two problems, namely a long wall loaded uniformly in two directions and a thick-wall cylindrical pressure vessel loaded internally, have been solved. The computed values of displacements, strains, stresses and hydrostatic pressure agree very c...
متن کاملSimulation of Multiphysics Problems Using Adaptive Finite Elements
Real world applications often involve several types of physics. In practice, one often solves such multiphysics problems by using already existing single physics solvers. To satisfy an overall accuracy, it is critical to understand how accurate the individual single physics solution must be. In this paper, we present a framework for a posteriori error estimation of multiphysics problems and der...
